Emmanuel Riggins
Emmanuel (* 1942) was a 1961 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, received an Associate's Degree in Music from Youngstown State University, attended Wayne State University and Control Data Institute, where he studied Computer Technology. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict in the Army Band, receiving the National Defense Service Medal.
Emmanuel was a recording artist playing with the Grant Green Band, the Emmanuel Riggins Trio and the Adam Band. He also was the organist for Second Baptist Church and the Daycare driver for 10 years and a Welder for Levi Steel for three years. He was also a member of the Musicians Union Local 86-242. Also was he the organist for New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church for five years,before retiring in 2012. Emmanuel passed away in 2015. |
