Billy "B3" Nunn
Billy (* in Buffalo) is an entertainer, musician, music composer, writer, producer,
arranger, and singer. At age 19, a friend stopped by his house to tell him Johnny
Lytle, a popular jazz vibes player and drummer, was looking for an organ player.
He stayed on the road with Lytle for three years. Realizing that jazz did not attract
so many people, Bill switched to R&B.
He is first generation Original Stone City Band, who was awarded Gold Album 1979, for contributing to the creation of that orchestrated funk sound of "The Late King of Punk Funk Rick James' ", first album "Come and Get It" selling over 500,000 copies. Billy continued Rick James' last request, and The Original Stone City Band's first show ever without Rick in Buffalo, NY in 2005. Billy co-wrote the song "All Night Long " along with Philip Bailey (Earth Wind And Fire) and brother Bobby Nunn (Splendor Album 1978). Billy performed Las Vegas First Annual Hammond B-3 organ Summit in 2013. The Living Legends Award of 2011 was presented to Billy at the Las Vegas Annual BMA Award Ceremony. The Living Legend Billy Nunn was inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 2015 for over five decades of contributions to the music and entertainment industry. In 2014, Life Time Achievement Award was presented on stage at Las Vegas' Sherry Gordy Presents with Team Gordy in presence of Legendary Berry Gordy of Motown, for his outstanding and innovative influence on the sound of great soul and funk music. Billy is in the studio daily, can be seen in various venues, labels, along with more awards and accommodations. |
