Duane Hitchings
Duane is a concert/studio keyboard player and songwriter. He was classically trained
on piano since 5, and played in country and rock bands since very young. Duane attended
the San Francisco and Philadelphia Conservatories of Music and Syracuse University
majoring in piano, composition, and electronic music.
Duane was an original member of Buddy Miles Express, and played with Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jeff Beck, Etta James, Miles Davis, and much more. Also, he became a member of the rock group Cactus with Carmine Appice and Tim Bogart. Later, he worked with Alice Cooper. He won a Grammy for the ballade, "I’ll Be Here Where The Heart Is" for the movie Flashdance and wrote several other songs with Kim Carnes. He also co-wrote songs for the movies Rock IV, Bring Down The House, Iron Eagle. He had hits/songs with Heart, Tina Turner, Steve Perry, Pat Benatar, Michael Bolton, Eddie Money, Eric Carmen. Duane co-wrote "Don't Look Any Further" with Frannie Golde and Dennis Lambert. The song was a major hit for the great lead singer of the Temptations, Dennis Edwards. He discovered and pre-produced a band called City Kidd. Duane has visited England, China, and Russia as Ambassador of the Arts on two separate trips representing the United States and have the pleasure of visiting a number of other countries around the globe with his music. |
