Lonnie Gasperini
In the early 70's, Lonnie toured with the group Cannabis, but played gospel, blues
and jazz across the country. He grooved night club goers from coast to coast. As well
he accompanied vocalists like Joe Lee Wilson, Percy Sledge, Lavern Sims and many others.
As the founder of Jazz Artists Workshops, a non-profit corporation, Lonnie hosted student sessions throughout the New England area. Lonnie continued the organ tradition of Jimmy Smith, Lonnie Smith, Jimmy McGriff, Charles Earland, Jack McDuff and Richard Groove Holmes. He died in June 2024. |
