Mike Bogle
After graduating from high school at age 16, Mike entered the University of Miami School of
Studio Music and Jazz on a performance scholarship. Originally known as a pianist, he doubled on
trombone and became a member of the One O'Clock Lab Band at the University of North Texas.
Bogle earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies, a Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical
Arts.
Throughout his distinctive career, Mike has worked with such major names as Doc Severinsen, Jaco Pastorius, Bobby Caldwell, Diana Ross, and in Latin Music. A major musical force in the Dallas area, Mike leads the experimental rock band Planet 9, the Bombo Fo-Tet, the Mike Bogle Jazztet, the Tropical Jazz Project, and the Mike Bogle Orchestra. In addition to working as a solo pianist, he has his own piano trio. He is also a respected educator. With the release of Dr. B!, Mike has started a new chapter in his musical life, as a jazz organist. |
