Patricia Barber
Patricia, born in Chicago, inherited her musicality from her parents: her
father, a saxophon player, her mother, a blues singer. Early, at the age of 5,
Patricia started piano lessons from her father, later she studied classical
piano. At that time, her interests were fully directed to classical music.
When, in 1989, Patricia's first album ("Split") was released, she had turned 180 degrees towards jazz, and she has followed the jazzy way, achieving a respectable career as vocalist and pianist. The organ seems to be an instrument "among others" for Patricia. Nevertheless her organ playing is absolutey worth listening to. |
