Mark Adams
Hammond Artist and B3 Legend, Marc Adams (*1952) was a first call for touring,
recording and performing in New Orleans. His history spans over 30 years and he
was considered the father of New Orleans B3 Hammond Blues Organ. Equally comfortable
as a B3 single as with the big horn bands, Marc had anchored the Hammond and Piano
Chair for many high-caliber national and international artists. A fine vocalist, with
an un-assuming and humble approach, Marc was the quintessential groove monster. Marc
was the most under-rated and under-promoted organist in the national blues and funk
community and is well known in the national music scene. His prowess on the keyboard
and B3 organ landed him in the center of the city's blues' scene, having performed
locally, and toured nationally and internationally with the likes of the Dixie Cups,
Marva Wright, Tab Benoit, Bryan Lee, Irma Thomas, Brother Tyronne, Colin Lake, Eric
Lindell, Ian Cunningham, Andy Forrest and countless other renowned artists. For the
last 10 years, he was the house piano man at Irene's Cuisine Restaurant. He was a
frequent site on the New Orleans Jazz Fest & French Quarter Fest stages.
