Alphons Stijnen
Alphons studied organ for 20 years, 15 years of classical and 5 years of modern organ in London
(Harold Smart, BBC). He has worked for the major brands such as Eminent, Hammond, Yamaha, Technics,
Thomas and Gulbransen. He worked with musicians like Ruud Janssen, Rick van der Linden, Pim Jacobs,
to mention a few. He also played the AVRO Concert Organ (COMPTON) with Bernhard Drukker. He is the
organist of the Kelpen-Oler (L) church. This assignment gives him the opportunity to keep up with his
Claasical work of wich he alway says that it shoul be the basis of every good organ player, after all,
here is were the organ starts, all modern techniques are derived from it, and it is very well alive.
His classical education shows (or better said sounds) in all of his work. His trademark is nice life-like
setting wich come very close to original recordings, played with love of detail.
