Ruth Hammond
In 1998, Ruth came runner up in the Young Jazz Musician Of The Year, and has played
a week long residency at Ronnie Scott's. Now based in London, Ruth and her husband
Scott met at Leeds College of Music where Ruth was awarded "Top Saxophonist" and "Most Outstanding Performer".More recently she has been a member of The National Youth Jazz Orchestra. Also, Ruth is currently a member (playing sax) of the pop band Morcheeba which gigs internationally. Ruth's main interest at the moment is playing organ with the Forster-Hammond Trio with drummer Scott Hammond and guitarist James Forster. This is one of the very few jazz organ trios in the UK playing largely original material, influenced largely (but not fully) by organist Larry Goldings. |
