Thierry Eliez
Thierry (* 1964) starts paying the piano at age four and studies classical music for ten years.
At that stage, he discovers jazz and American music. At age 17, Thierry founds his first trio,
the E.T. Trio, by which he puts his name on the regional map.
In 1985, he goes to Paris, where he plays in several jazz clubs. Merely a year later, he is well known as one of the best pianists and organists in Paris. Violin player Didier Lockwood engages him in 1986, and in 1989, Jean-Marc Jafet, André Ceccarelli and Thierry found the Ceccarelli Trio. From 1990, he plays for Dee Dee Bridgewater. With the singer Catherine Lara, he works together for many years. They composed various titles together. Later, in 2004, Thierry composed for and with Muriel Robin. In 2009, Thierry forms the Thierry Eliez Trio together with his brother Philippe and his friend Daniel Ouvrard. But he works together also with some well-known musicians, such as Éric Serra, Pierre Bertrand, Nicolas Folmer and Michel Legrand. |
