Kingsley Ettienne
Kingsley Ettienne began his musical career as a child in his native Grenada, singing in church.
After seeing the great Jimmy Smith perform, Kingsley was inspired to start playing the Hammond
B3 organ and one of the Caribbean's leading talents emerged.
Kingsley emigrated to Canada where he pursued his musical dream and went on to share stages with Wild Bill Davis, Nancy Wilson, Charles "Big Burner" Earland, Jimmy McGriff, Jack McDuff, and Jimmy Smith. Then, he surprised the jazz world by returning to his original love singing. Under the tutelage and guidance of world renowned voice coach, Theodore Gentry, Kingsley fine-tuned his voice into an instrument of astounding strength. A regular on the International Jazz circuit, with several recording of his own compositions, Kingsley is an acclaimed master of the Hammond B-3 organ. Critics and audiences alike cite his passion, skill and unbridled energy as the key ingredients of his mesmerizing performances. |
