Paul Flush
Paul, born in Newcastle/Great Britain, was encouraged by his father to study music.
At 16, he left school to work in the country's nightclubs, and played for many
famous performers like Billy Eckstein or Nancy Wilson. After this period of
practical experience Paul studied at the London College of Music and the
Guildhall School of Music, gaining a serious interest in composition and
performance.
From 1978 to 1983, Paul worked for TFM Radio producing live music sessions, writing and performing many commercials and jingles. He also provided playback recordings for artists like Eddie Grant and Eartha Kitt. In 1984, he began working as a full-time jazz pianist. With his formation Full Circle Paul had many successful festival appearances. He came into contact with the Belgian Radio Orchestra and was invited for special concerts as guest pianist. In 1997, Paul Flush worked with John Surman on a project of original music commsissioned by the Stockton Riverside Internationa Festival. It was at that time, Paul moved to Belgium, and joined Belgian artists like Johan Vandendriessche. He returned to the Hammond organ and founded a new trio called The Demagogue Reacts!. |
